Juliyan Martinez

Juliyan Martinez is a first-year Clarinet Fellow at the New World Symphony. A first-year fellow with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra as well, he was an opening performer for Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and has performed with the Atlanta Symphony, American Ballet Theatre and Orchestra of Saint Luke’s.

Juliyan previously served as Associate Principal/E-flat Clarinet with Symphony in C, and has participated in various summer music programs, including the Music Academy of the West, National Repertory Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival and Hidden Valley Festival of Winds.

Originally from Atlanta, Juliyan earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School as a student of Jon Manasse and the recipient of a Juilliard Kovner fellowship. He completed his high school studies with Marci Gurnow, now the Bass Clarinetist of the Dallas Symphony and was a proud fellow of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Talent Development Program, a program which fiercely advances diversity in classical music.
