Jamie Kim

Los Angeles native Jamie Kim is a third-year Flute Fellow at the New World Symphony. She is a laureate of many competitions, being a semifinalist in the Young Concert Artist International Auditions, National Flute Association Young Artist competition, The Music Center’s Spotlight, second prize at The New York Flute Club Competition and a winner of National YoungArts and Classics Alive Young Artist. Past solo concerti appearances also include performing with the Brentwood Westwood Symphony, Culver City Chamber Orchestra, Beach Cities Symphony, Santa Monica College Symphony and more.

Jamie’s passion for orchestral playing has led her to play with the Music Academy of the West, National Repertory Orchestra, Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra, The Juilliard Orchestra and University of Southern California (USC) Thornton Symphony in venues like Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Hall.

Jamie recently graduated with her master’s degree from The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Carol Wincenc and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music as a Trustee Scholar under the guidance of Jim Walker and Catherine Karoly.

Outside of performing, Jamie early on found a love for connecting with her musical neighborhood, leading her to become an active participant at both her schools, as a Juilliard Morse fellow and Music Advancement Program (MAP) fellow and as a mentor in USC Thornton’s Community Engagement Program. She continues her dedication for teaching with her private studio.
