Pei-Hsuan Shen

Pei-Hsuan Shen is a second-year Piano Fellow at the New World Symphony. Her artistry has brought her to stages across Asia, Europe and the United States, including Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center and Taiwan’s National Concert Hall.

Recognized for her versatility, Pei-Hsuan has collaborated with The Orchestra Now (TON), Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Taipei Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and has worked with distinguished conductors and artists including Stéphane Denève, Manfred Honeck, Tan Dun, Augustin Hadelich and Kelley O'Connor. She has also been a guest artist at the Altalena Music Festival in Italy and served as a rehearsal pianist at the Bard Music Festival. Her experience extends to choral music and opera productions such as Le Nozze di Figaro, Hansel and Gretel and Die Fledermaus.

Pei-Hsuan was previously a collaborative piano fellow at Bard College Conservatory of Music. She earned a graduate diploma in collaborative piano from the New England Conservatory under Jonathan Feldman and Cameron Stowe. She also holds both a master’s degree in collaborative piano and a bachelor's degree in piano performance from National Taiwan Normal University, where she studied with Jeannie Cheng and Yeni Lee. She was a collaborative piano fellow at Music Academy of the West (2019, 2022) and has appeared as a soloist at the Walnut Hill Music Festival (2014).

Though raised in Taiwan, Pei-Hsuan inherited her Cantonese parents' taste buds. Dim sum is her ultimate favorite!
