Quinn Robinson

Violist Quinn Robinson is a first-year Fellow at the New World Symphony. During his time in Canada, he served as Acting Assistant Principal Viola of the Winnipeg Symphony for the 2025-26 season, and Principal Viola of the 2025 edition of the orchestra of the Festival International Bach Montréal, where he returns in winter.

Previously, Quinn was Principal Viola of the JUNO and Opus Prize-winning Orchestre de l’Agora, including on its most recent album Le récital des anges, and has been a substitute and guest player with various ensembles in Québec including the Orchestre Métropolitain, Violons du Roy, Orchestre Classique de Montréal and the Andara and Cobalt quartets, as well as the Jacksonville Symphony in Florida. Festival attendance includes Tanglewood, Toronto Summer Music, Keshet Eilon, Bowdoin, Lyricafest and Le Salon Vert.

Originally from Norwalk, CT, Quinn completed his master’s degree studying with Juan-Miguel Hernandez at the Université de Montréal, where he was awarded the Bourse Cecile and César Uguay and winner of the Bourse d’Excellence, Bourse Luc Vinet and a CANIMEX mentorship with Orchestre Classique de Montréal. Quinn previously studied with Ed Gazouleas at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he was the recipient of the Dr. Sarah Clevenger Scholarship. Other teachers included Stanley Ritchie and Karen Ritscher. During his studies, and he performed in master classes for renowned violists including Roberto Diaz, Roland Glassl, Nobuko Imai, Yura Lee, Tatjana Masurenko, Scott St. John and Steven Tenenbom.

Quinn also enjoys playing Candlelight concerts, running, cycling and reading. He has recently been improving his pickleball game.
