Seung A Olivia Jung

Seung A Olivia Jung is a first-year Viola Fellow at the New World Symphony. She has performed as a guest musician with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean National Orchestra and PyeongChang Music Festival Orchestra. She was also an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and was selected to participate in the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan, in 2025.

Seung A recently completed the performer diploma in orchestral studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Li-Kuo Chang. She also earned both an artist diploma and a master of music degree at Indiana University under the guidance of Stephen Wyrczynski and was awarded the prestigious Artist Merit Scholarship. Seung A completed a bachelor of music degree at Seoul National University, where she studied with Eunsik Choi, after graduating from Seoul Arts High School, where she studied with Daejin Hwang.

Seung A was a member of the Kuttner String Quartet, Indiana University's String Quartet-in-Residence, during the 2024–25 academic year. She also performed with Indiana University's New Music Ensemble for two years. Prior to that, she performed in Spirit of SNU Strings, Seoul National University's annual chamber music concert series at the Seoul Arts Center and also held principal viola positions with the Seoul Arts High School Symphony Orchestra and Seoul National University Symphony Orchestra and the orchestras of Indiana University.

Seung A has participated in master classes with distinguished artists including Tabea Zimmermann, Máté Szűcs, Eric Nowlin and the Pacifica Quartet.

When she is not performing, Seung A enjoys pilates and cooking.
