Maggie Brady

Maggie Brady is a first-year Violin Fellow at the New World Symphony. She recently spent summers fostering her love of orchestral music as a fellow at Music Academy of the West and Colorado Music Festival. In Michigan, she maintained a studio of private students, held a position with Lansing Symphony Orchestra and appeared as guest concertmaster of Adrian Symphony Orchestra.

Originally from Boulder, Maggie completed her master’s degree at the University of Michigan studying with Danielle Belen, where she served as concertmaster for both the University Symphony Orchestra and the University Philharmonia Orchestra. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder studying with Harumi Rhodes. She then went on to become a violinist in the graduate string quartet in residence at CU Boulder and earned an artist diploma in string quartet studies under the instruction of the Takács Quartet.

During her time in the quartet, Maggie participated in many chamber music festivals and seminars including the Juilliard String Quartet Seminar, Robert Mann String Quartet Institute, Music in the Vineyards and Madeline Island Chamber Music, where the quartet was accepted as the Emerging Artists Quartet in residence. The quartet also collaborated with MacPhail Center for Music, Bravo! Vail and Aspen Music Festival to bring chamber music to young musicians across the state.

Maggie is passionate about music as a means of building community and giving back. She participated in projects to raise awareness for a wide range of benefits including food insecurity, glioblastoma and the reintroduction of endangered species into their habitat.

When not playing the violin, you can find her trying out a new coffee shop, journaling or hiking in the mountains!
