Natalie Boberg

Natalie Boberg is a first-year Violin Fellow at the New World Symphony. She has held positions as Concertmaster with Park City Opera, Civic Orchestra of Chicago and first violinist with the Boise Philharmonic. She has also performed with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony and Chicago Philharmonic.

A versatile solo, chamber and orchestral musician, her playing has been praised by violinist Vijay Gupta as “beautifully personal, with instincts that are so on.” Natalie made her solo debut with the Utah Symphony in 2018 and has since appeared as a soloist with the Colburn Chamber Orchestra alongside Anne Akiko Meyers, the Lake Avenue Chamber Orchestra and Gifted Music School Chamber Orchestra. Her summer festival appearances include the Music Academy of the West, Aspen Music Festival and National Repertory Orchestra.

Dedicated to new works and innovative programming, Natalie is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Magari Ensemble. As a vocalist, dancer and visual artist, she envisions interdisciplinary programs for chamber and smaller orchestral groups, combining music with spoken word, dance, film, history and visual art. Through the ensemble's Subject to Change Initiative, she champions new works by women and other underrepresented composers.

Natalie holds a master of music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Simon James, and a bachelor of music degree from the New England Conservatory, where she studied with Valeria Kuchment. Other mentors include Chen Zhao, Glenn Dicterow, Sally Thomas, Eugene Watanabe, Michael T. McLean and Amy Herrick. Natalie has held faculty positions at NEC Prep School and Boston Music Project. She is committed to nurturing the growth of new artists and aims to make classical music more accessible by creating inclusive, memorable experiences for all.
