Yuna Jo

Yuna Jo, a third-year Violin Fellow at the New World Symphony, commenced her musical journey at age seven in South Korea. A graduate of Seoul Arts High School, she earned a bachelor's degree at Manhattan School of Music with a scholarship mentored by Nicholas Mann. Further refining her skills at Yale School of Music, Yuna pursued a master’s degree under the guidance of professors Hyo Kang and Tai Murray.

With a focus on classical violin, Yuna's journey includes notable achievements such as winning the Fuchs Chamber Music Competition and the Vienna Youth Music Competition Grand Prize. Recognized at the DMZ International Music Festival Solo Competition, she secured the Second Prize and received the Grand Prize in the Seoul Gratia Orchestra Competition.

Yuna actively participates in prestigious summer festivals, including the Korea National Symphony Orchestra Academy and Music Academy of the West, with a full scholarship at the National Orchestral Institute.

As a soloist, Yuna showcased her skills with the Goyang Philharmonic Orchestra in South Korea. Outside of her musical pursuits, she enjoys growing plants with her husband and finds relaxation in watching movies and reading books in her free time. Looking ahead, Yuna is dedicated to furthering her career as a professional violinist with a passion for classical music.
