Isabella Soo-Hoo

Isabella "Bella" Soo-Hoo (she/her) is a freelance dancer, teacher, and a Balanced Body certified Pilates instructor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bella is a current dance artist with Pearl Street Dance Collective, Dragons Dance and Tether Dance Project. In 2024 she graduated summa cum laude from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, with a BFA in Contemporary Dance and a minor in Global Studies. During her studies, Bella worked with and performed works by artists such as Aszure Barton, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, José Limón, Loni Landon, Heather Stewart/little house dance, and Jawole Willa Jo Zolar. Outside of the Conservatory, Bella has also worked with choreographers FLOCK, Lauren Edson, Yoshito Sakuraba, Gianna Burright, Karl Watson, and Courtney Mazeika.

With deep roots in the Bay Area, Bella is passionate in utilizing dance as a vehicle for community strengthening and relationship building. Her work explores and presents her voice as a dance artist through a lens of advocacy, storytelling and curiosity with the goal of deepening human connection and relationships.

She has furthered her training and artistic growth at programs including Orsolina28, b12, Ballet Jazz de Montreal, Carmel Dance Festival Fellowship Program, Arts Umbrella, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, NorthWest Dance Project and Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Born in Oakland, California, Bella grew up training at the San Francisco Ballet School and from 2013-20 she attended Oakland School for the Arts under the direction of Reginald Ray-Savage and Alison Hurley.
