Taylor Raven

Mezzo-Soprano

Hailed as a “vocal sensation” by Washington Classical Review, mezzo-soprano Taylor Raven is quickly establishing herself in opera, concert and recital.

In the 2026-27 season, Raven returns to San Francisco Opera for Manon (Rosette) and Das Rheingold (Flosshilde) and makes her Finnish National Opera and Ballet debut in The Handmaid’s Tale (Serena Joy). On the concert stage, she returns to the Colorado Symphony for Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and The Cleveland Orchestra for Beethoven’s Missa solemnis, and a debut with the New World Symphony in Mozart’s Requiem. She also returns to the Pacific Vocal Series for its holiday concert series and joins COmpass REsonance for Sweeter Than Roses, a program of Baroque arias and works by Handel, Vivaldi, Bach and Purcell.

Last season, Raven made her English National Opera debut in Così fan tutte (Dorabella) and returned to the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a staged production of Die Walküre (Grimgerde). On the concert stage, she returned to The Cleveland Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra for Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and the New Jersey Symphony for Mozart’s Requiem, and debuted with the North Carolina Symphony in Handel’s Messiah and Opera Omaha for its annual Opera Outdoors concert.

Recent operatic highlights include Omar (Fatima), Antony and Cleopatra (Charmian), Dialogues des Carmélites (Sister Mathilde) and La traviata (Flora) with San Francisco Opera; Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina) and As One (Hannah After) with Seattle Opera; La Cenerentola (Angelina) with Kentucky Opera; Carmen (title role) with Des Moines Metro Opera; The Life and Death(s) of Alan Turing (Joan Clarke) with Chicago Opera Theater; Die Zauberflöte (Dritte Dame) with Houston Grand Opera and Lakmé (Mallika) with Washington Concert Opera. She has also appeared with North Carolina Opera in Moravec’s Sanctuary Road.

A frequent concert soloist, Raven has appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Das Rheingold (Flosshilde) under Gustavo Dudamel and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy at the Hollywood Bowl; The Cleveland Orchestra in La fanciulla del West (Wowkle) under Franz Welser-Möst; the Colorado Symphony in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 under Marin Alsop; and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in Mahler’s Das klagende Lied under James Conlon. Additional appearances include the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Memphis Symphony, Orchestra Iowa and New West Symphony.

A graduate of the Young Artist Program at LA Opera, Raven appeared with the company in La clemenza di Tito (Annio), Don Carlo (Tebaldo) and Die Zauberflöte (Zweite Dame) conducted by James Conlon, and Hänsel und Gretel (Sandman).

Raven holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Colorado Boulder.
